About Audiofictions

AudioFictions are based on audiobooks, allowing lovers of fanfiction to download their favourite stories and listen to them whilst away from a computer.

In 2008, MNFF launched it's brand-new idea with Roxy Black, one of its moderating team, reading a selection of poetry from the site. At the same time, they began hiring for a team of "MerMuggles" who would read and present each episode of the service.

Applicants were asked to record themselves reading an extract of a Harry Potter book. From these auditions, the moderators picked nine members who would become their MerMuggles. Since then, the MerMuggles have been working hard to work out the logistics of creating audiofiction and are now ready to release their pilot episode.

The Black Lake - situated in the MNFF Beta Forums, allows authors from the site to nominate their favourite fictions for the service. This feature will be launched at the end of the first episode and will run as a test to find if this is the best way to select new fictions. We hope this interactivity between authors and MerMuggles will increase the popularity of the service and prove successful in the future.
