Summary: The Dumbledore brothers have a colourful history. One is the scholar, the hero, and the Headmaster we all know. The other... Well, there's that story about the goat.
A little Valentine for the Ravenclaws. Warning: this does contain the goat.
Summary: Born into a time of turmoil and hardship, Rowena Ravenclaw always knew she was different. There was something that would haunt her mind deep in the night- an unseen and unknown power.
Now she has met three other young people who have this power. Together, they can bring the magic back. Together, they can do great things. But the magic is for only those who believe.
I am smiley10792 and I am in Hufflepuff house.
Summary: One-Shot inspired on a history lesson about witch hunts.
In mid-seventeenth century England, when witch hunts were the in thing to do, Richard Potter begins to hear whispers that a “Witch Finder General” is heading towards the small village where he and his family live. Of course, he can easily protect the people who ARE “guilty” of witchcraft (his family and the cantankerous old Widow Thompson), but what about the innocent Muggle villagers who will most likely be accused because they happen to talk to their cat? Who will protect them?
Summary: Little is known of the ghosts which reside here within the walls of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. For some, their pasts have been entirely erased from memory, and all that remains is but a shadow of their former selves. We mortal beings know nothing of death, for it hides its secrets, only unearthing them as we pass beyond after our final moments, yet then, there are still some who fear what lies ahead once we are gone.
A book of death-day one-shots, put together in this manner because of the prologue. (Otherwise, it might be separate one-shots in a series.) This could be horror or angst, but I thought, as it isn't intentionally morbid, that historical would do best.
Summary: Salazar Slytherin is old and weary, but still working his own brand of magic. He finds himself in a tavern in the northern town of Alnwick, reflecting on what was, and on what could have been.
Summary: This was written as an assignment for the Beta Forum's spring term. It is based on the Irish myth Dierdre of the Sorrows but with Rowena Ravenclaw the one being prophesied about. It is retold in the mythic style, without great detail but as a plot driven piece of writing.
Summary: Salazar Slytherin fled Hogwarts a mere day ago. Now, scarred and pained, the Four Founders reflect on broken promises and the memories of what used to be.
Summary: Helga Hufflepuff has had dreams for years. As time goes on, she realizes that they seem to be prophetic of what will happen with her friends. She hopes that the fight from one nightmare was just a nightmare, but only time will tell.
This was for the Dreams Challenge in the New Years Challenges..
Summary: Myrtle is tired of being laughed, teased and humiliated. She's going to change and be popular, if it's the last thing she does...
This is for the New Year challenge, Dreams, and I am Apollo13 of Slytherin House.
Summary: During the construction of Hogwarts, the founders are all doing their part to create the first school of its kind. Everyone except Salazar Slytherin, that is. When Godric dreams of the nightmarish project Salazar is undertaking, it is up to him to set things straight. Warning: This story does not completely comply with canon, merely to explore possible alternative reasons for Slytherin's departure from Hogwarts.
Forum Username: Gigi
Challenge Prompt: Dreams
Summary: Another birthday, another present from his mother, and another year gone. Severus Snape would like birthdays to be cancelled, or at least put into a large void that was a million miles away from him.
This is AU and based on the characters that I created for Snape in Daughter of Light. That fiction was written before HBP so I had to create Snape's family. Unsurprisingly, Jo had different ideas to me. ;-)
Summary: This is set in the Founders Era and follows Rowena Ravenclaw as she is shown her destiny by several strange visitors to her village. She discovers her magical ancestry and meets her fellow Founders. This includes much mention of Irish Mythology and the Sidhe. There is a little Yule magic and hints at romance.
Written for Celestial Melody for Ravenclaw House's Secret Santa exchange. Her wonderful prompt asked for a Founder, fairies and imagery.
Summary: It's a short while from the end of the First War. Frank and Alice Longbottom are well-respected Aurors as well as members of the Order of the Pheonix. After Voldemort is defeated, the Longbottoms are paid a visit by a gang of Death Eaters. Very, very, very mild language warning.
Summary: Eileen Snape decorates the Christmas tree, and Tobias Snape looks on.
Substance abuse is minor, but just in case...
This was originally written for the Winter Challenge prompt number five, Oh Christmas Tree, and it won first place!
Summary: Slowly it was rebuilt from the same node, from the same tiny green spark that hovered at the core of the spell as he fed it power. Power not just to destroy the thing, but to destroy all things, all the things that made him old and feeble and slowly withered him away; all the things that crippled and pained him. And the words formed with the energies as he manipulated them, churning endlessly as they sought what they required to fulfil his bidding. Mimicking the languages of old, learning from those from which it grew until it had a purpose of its own. Avada Kedavra, I destroy as I speak.
Summary: Tom Riddle calls a meeting and gives those attending a present, of sorts...
Originally written for the Winter Tales' third challenge, A Winter Miracle.
Not your average Christmas time miracle though...
Summary: Summary: What if Helga was Lazy? Salazar was naive? What if Rowena hated the idea of an education? And Godric was far from bold? The Founders we know are the heroes of their age - full of passionate notions and deeply held values that would shape the Wizarding world for a millennia, but they weren't born with them. Some times the things we feel strongest about as adults are the things we hate as children. A coming of age story.
Summary: In the seven years he attended Hogwarts, Albus Dumbledore learned about every aspect of the wizarding world through his classes, but outside of school work, Albus discovered secrets of life, love, and a good sense of humor. A fan fiction in which we watch Dumbledore grow into the man he is for Harry and all others who get to know him in his later years.
Summary: Long before Harry and his friends were born, Tom Riddle and his sister Miriam attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In a diary written by Miriam, she recounts the events of their seven years at Hogwarts . . . and how her brother eventually became corrupted by the dark side.
Tom Riddle was the most fearful of beings. Tom Riddle had a lust for power. Tom Riddle was afraid to die.
