Well, since you had me all intrigued with your one-shot, I thought I'd pop on over here and see what prompted it. I'm glad I did, too. =) This is such an interesting idea - that Andromeda and Lucius had a relationship. I don't think I've ever read anything like it before.
I like Andromeda's character a lot so far, and poor her, falling into the fountain. The little bit we saw of Cissy was good too - I've always thought they would've been friends.
Author's Response: Glad you're enjoying this, I had entirely too much fun with this story while writing. :) And yes, Andy is a little klutzy -- Tonks had to get her clumsiness from somewhere, yes? *giggles* Thanks for another review!
wow. I really don't know how I ought to feel after this story. on the one hand---andromeda has displayed some rather slytherin tendancies in getting tonks to marry her to get out of her previous engagement. she likes him, but does she love him? the same way she loved lucius?
is this why lucius is so grouchy and bitter all the time? he is capable of love but doesn't think it is right for a pureblood? it's so sad...they were in love but he threw in his lot with the dark lord (slytherin all over) and their love broke up...and possibly ruined tonks&andy's life, his and cissy's life...if he and andy had stayed together, would they have been happy? would he have grown to listen to her? would they have had a happy family?
how long before andy loves tonks?
Author's Response: Andromeda does love Ted, she's just not *in* love with him as she is with Lucius. And yeah, I suppose you could say it was pretty Slytherin of her to do that, though she also *believes* it will be better for *both* of them, which isn't all Slytherin. Whether she is right or not, who knows, but those are still her intentions.
Would they have been happy if they stayed together? That I can answer with a sure and resounding no. Andy's right about that much, at least. I wrote an AU one-shot about this actually, maybe I'll submit it eventually. :)
How long before Andromeda loves Ted? Well, she does love him at this point, and her love definitely grows stronger for him over the years, but it's never quite . . . the same. My fic Lips of an Angel explores that, actually. /self-promotion :D
Anyway, thank you so much for the nice review! :)
that's so sad. I never thought I'd feel sorry for lucius
Author's Response: :D That comment made me entirely too happy for my own good. *huggles Lucius* Thanks!
don't you mean you-know-who's ideas are skewed, not skewered? and I am american but I think that calling the area behind one's house a backyard rather than a garden is an insult. or so I've heard.
Author's Response: Yes, I did mean skewed. I should really fix that. And all I meant by the 'backyard is an insult' comment was that it was far too fine and elegant to be called a backyard. To me, backyard seems to indicate something more 'common', garden indicates something more 'elegant'. It had nothing to do with actual British terminology. :)
