hmm i dont know where your going with this but very interesting. been so long since i read the first chappie that i had to reread to refresh my memory. hmm .. a phoenix. i wonder if it was dumbledores.
Author's Response: The phoenix is not Fawkes, but a wild phoenix taking up temporary residence in the forest. But that is an interesting supposition.

Isn't Mum a Muggle? Maybe Floo powder or side by side Apparation.
I like how his mum came back if only for a little bit. There must be alot of sadness in Emrys if he's not making friends in Hufflepuff.
Author's Response: Oh, bother, you're right, I meant Flooed. Thanks for catching that- I'll change it right away.
Emrys is not making close friends in Hufflepuff because he won't open up. People will talk to him, and not harrass him, but at the same time they don't quite know what to make of him.

I love it. This is promising to be a good story. Though it does sound like I might have been a touch wrong about the age spread.
Author's Response: Don't worry. All the characters should stay the same age now, so it won't be as confusing, I hope!

I certainly like your first chapter. I am guessing Scorpius is 6th or 7th year. And Jenny is probably the same year?
Author's Response: Where the story takes off, Jenny is a seventh year, Scorpius also seventh, the twins sixth, and Emrys fourth. (which means in the very first chapter Scorpius and Jenny are fourth years, the twins third, and Emrys a firstie).

I think Hufflepuff tends to be one of the most underrated houses which is odd because it encompasses the idea of love and inclusion which are the two biggest themes throughout the books. Scorpius will have a role to play later on, but I prefer him in the older brother role for now:)

Emrys is such a great OC and drawn in such detail, and this really alters my perception of how Draco would wind up. I love all the literary references-- and how appropriate that a medievalist would marry a wizard. Great read. :)
Author's Response: Thank you. I've always thought that Draco deserved a little better than he got, and he did seem to grow up nicely. And as for Elaine, she's been bouncing around my head for a while now as a wicked little thought saying "what if?"
