Grr. i just typed out a nice review and then it deleted itself some how...Anyway! I really liked this story!i feel sort of mean but Im sort of glad Rose broke it off, not because I don't like this ship but because I feel what Scorpius was doing to her was horrible. He'd been leading her on for years and she stayed with him for one reason. love. It was a nice length and you got the characters to a tee. You can see that Scorpius is both like Draco because he doesn't wasnt to disappoint his family but also very different in that he gave Rase a chance even though she was a Weasly. All in all I really enjoyed reading this. It flowed and really worked!
Author's Response: I'm glad you enjoyed the flow and characterization. I do find the reaction that Rose is the victim rather interesting. She is the "other woman" with whom Scorpius carried out an affair with and eventually left his wife for. Isn't she a victim of Rose as well as Scorpius? What about Rose's husband? She cheated on him. When she talks about the life she built (husband, house, kids) she says she'd been willing to leave it all for Scorpius. It sounds like she cared more about her lover than her kids. Okay, it may sound like I'm criticizing you, but I've heard this reaction from others, too. Even I feel the way you and many others do to a certain extent. Well, there's some food for thought. Thanks for the review!
I’ve always been your secret, never good enough to you’re your family about.
Just a minor oopsie, thought you'd like to know. :D
Ok, now on with the good part! I love Rose/Scorpius unconditionally, so yay for another story. I like the first person format, because Rose, as a Weasley, wears her heart on her sleeve, but as a Malfoy, Scorpius would not; that made me glad that the story was from his perspective. The scenarios are so believable, because I can really see Scorpius growing up just like Draco, prejudice oozing out of every pore, and I can also believe that Rose would sacrifice her life for the one she loves, no matter how poisonous that love may turn out to be.
All in all, it was extremely well-constructed, and IMO, well told. Thank you for writing this. :-)
Author's Response: Yay, a positive review from Jess! *SQUEEEEE* I'm particularly pleased that you liked the first person perspective, as writing in first person is so controversial and easily done poorly.
That was so sad. i expected a little more of Scorpius. Somehow I expected him to be stronger and not follow in his father's footsteps, in terms of doing what family expects. I also understand what it's like to love someone very much and not be able to be with them. Who knows maybe there's still hope for Scorpius and Rose.
Author's Response: I don't know if there's hope for this pair. Not immediately, I don't think. Maybe they'll meet when they're old and gray, and have mellowed a bit, and the time will be right.
