Chapter: No Hope, No Harm

I'm curious as to what happens to Milton post having his heart shattered.

Chapter: No Hope, No Harm

oh, I just have to gush some more about this story. I've already covered Narcissa's characterization, so I'll do Milton and Lucius now.
Milton- poor guy! He never saw her again. Very great original character, and seems like someone who could overcome the racial barriers and get Narcissa to go out with him... It's so sad for him, too, because he loved her, and believed in her, but she wouldn't believe in herself.
Lucius-very true to character, and I can picture him acting just like this. The fancy gifts, and the jealousy. And this line "You're allowed to be nervous."
You've hit the nail on the head. He certainly would say something like this. It reveals so much about his character, even when being nice he shows his arrogance in giving Narcissa "permission" to feel something.

Chapter: No Hope, No Harm

This is sooooo sad. When I finished it I was bawling. A little far-fetched, perhaps, but very much in character. This is just so beautiful and sad, and probably my favorite story on Mugglenet. The fact that its Narcissa's own fault that she lost her love is what makes it all the more tragic...So sad, you can see Milton and Narcissa together, if she had just made up her mind and went for it, but...no. And then this story really reaches out to the emotions because it's so easy to find yourself in Narcissa, and you wonder if you would have done the same as her. It really speaks to the hesitant and weak part in all of us that craves security. And then when you think about who Narcissa becomes later, then its just even sadder. Its how the little choices can shape the entire course of our lives...When I read it the first time, tears were running down my face by the end of the story, and even on the fifth or sixth time I get a lump in my throat. Great job, and thanks for such a well-written and heartbreaking story!
