Author's Response: Thank you! That was one of the things I most wanted to get across. As Hermione is so widely written about, I knew I'd have to work really hard to make her character convincing. I'm glad you felt for her :)

Sad chapter. This fic is very well written, it's as if you can feel Hermione's emotions. In a few seconds, it'll be officially one of my favourite fics. :)
Author's Response: Wow, thank you so much! I felt this chapter was really important, as it obviously sets up Hermione's loyalty that we see in the later books. But I wanted people to genuinely sympathise for her not just because she's Hermione, but because she felt very realy emotions. It took me a while, but I'm so glad you got them! It's what I aim most to achieve, so I'm really happy :)

I loved seeing Hermione as she was before Hogwarts, and it's nice that she met a boy who she can relate to. I bet she sensed that she wasn't normal for a long time before she found out about being a witch! And this makes me wonder what Jamie will think of her when things change. Great story so far.
Author's Response: I'm glad you enjoyed it! I have plans for the revelation of her witchiness (is that a word?) which shall be revealed at a later date, but yes, I did like creating a person so separate from the magical world. I feel like we hardly know anything about Hermione - certainly least of the trio in terms of background - and I always wondered why she never told Harry and Ron about it. That's what inspired me to write this fic, I suppose :)
