Thanks for resolving the cheating argument in just a few chapters. :)

Author's Response: Thanks for reading and reviewing! Yeah, dragging it would have probably ended up very messy. Plus I :)can't stand to see these angry with each for too long. Anyway, thanks again for reading :)

Chapter: The Best In All Of This

Hmm. Not sure how to feel about this one. I'm glad she didn't melt and say yes right away, but I was kind of hoping that when she got close she'd hex him or punch him Malfoy-style. He was a complete arse (which had he been right about the other guy, he would've been justified) and deserved at least some bat-bogeys. And I've never personally been one for anger-shagging, or snogging, in the case, but each to his own. :)

"This was a decision that took deep thought and careful consideration. It needed time and logical reflection. Pro and con lists. Serious internal debate. An objective plan for the future. Research. Eight hours sleep and a healthy breakfast." This had me giggling. You're really great at slipping those in, and they're never trite or cliche; they feel so honest.

Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing again! Sorry about that. I'm with you on the 'she shouldn't melt' thing though. Ron (well, both of them really) said some horrible things and Hermione wouldn't forget them just like that. I do think that these two would solve stuff between them while angry. Maybe not the best way to go about things, but they seem to like making life difficult for themselves. Hopefully the next chapter will explain some more stuff. I'm glad you liked that bit though and thank you :)

Chapter: The Darkest Words You Said

Oh, and now that I've recovered a little more, I have to say, you write this kind of pain so.well. Man, right in the feels. My chest literally hurt reading this.

Author's Response: Thank you! Although I am sorry for causing you pain...

Chapter: The Darkest Words You Said

:(( Have nothing constructive to say. Too busy crying.

Well...okay. Nice twist at the end, but still, so much sadness. It more made me go [record scratch]"huh?" than "squee!" But that's not criticism as I assume you intended that way. Glad I don't have to wait for an update. See you at the end of the next chapter.

Author's Response: Thanks for reading and reviewing! Haha, yeah, the ending was meant to be a bit out of the blue. Glad you liked this though, even with all the shouting :)

Chapter: The Best In All Of This

I found this a really tough story to read, not because it wasn't written well, but actually the polar opposite: it was written too well. It was too believable that Ron and Hermione would get themselves into this situation, and that's what made it so heartbreaking and frustrating. Your characterisation of them both was dead on, and this is one of the few times I've felt Ron's true spirit has been captured by someone other than JK, so many others get him so totally wrong yet you haven't, you've shown insight into his faults whilst still understanding the positive aspects of his character and not making him into the dim cliche that it can be so easy to. I like how you kept to canon, whilst still deeply exploring the fractures in their relationship, and not glossing over the fact that they do rub each other up the wrong way; always have done and always will do. I think this is honestly the best Ron/Hermione fic I've ever read, as it's almost painful in it's brutal honesty about their characters and how life and relationships aren't perfect, yet this is what makes it so good. For me, the ending was perfect, as you had them acknowledge the fact they have some major hurdles to overcome, but still restoring that hope that they will do so. The line: "I know. I'm not trying to fix everything... I'm -- I'm promising that I won't ever stop trying to." really captures this for me, and perfectly encompasses their relationship. Also, your inner monologue of Hermione's thoughts after Ron's (second) proposal so perfectly captured the essence of her need for logic and reason, whilst showing how she is still capable of emotion and how she's can overcome this: 'This was a decision that took deep thought and careful consideration. It needed time and logical reflection. Pro and con lists. Serious internal debate. An objective plan for the future. Research. Eight hours sleep and a healthy breakfast. A clear head.'
I don't really know what else to say other than that, truly, you should be really proud of what you've achieved as not many people are capable of creating such a painfully believable story, and even fewer can truly understand the Ron/Hermione dynamic. Thank you for a wonderful read.

Author's Response: Thank you so much for reading and reviewing! Ron is my favourite character in the series and I love him as much for his flaws as his strengths so it really means a lot for you to compliment my characterisation. Same with his relationship with Hermione. Everything in canon shows that they are going to have these moments when they get caught up in drama, but deep down they mean the world to each other. Fairytale, ride-off-into-the-sunset romances may happen, but this isn't one of them. But, like you said, that is what makes these two so much fun to write/read. Anyway, thank you so much for the lovely review! It totally made my day. Hope you enjoy the last couple of chapters :)

Chapter: Driving Me Crazy

:(( I must say I wasn't fooled by the "kiss" in the last chapter...at least I knew canon-Hermione would never have sought that sort of comfort from someone else during a fight with Ron, and hoped that your version of Hermione would be the same. It doesn't make it any less heartbreaking, though. Also, I love the way Patrick called her 'Minoe and she got all irritated. Damn straight. ;)

Author's Response: Thanks for reading and reviewing! Yeah, I really don't think Hermione would do something like that, no matter how upset she was. Haha, 'Mione makes no sense. Anyway, thanks again for reviewing! And I hope you enjoy the rest :)

Chapter: Driving Me Crazy

The Ron hitting his head on the way there and everything being a hallucination brought on by concussion version was a lot funnier (just kidding) but I really like this version too. For starters Ron (who is never right) is right and Patrick is an pompous delusional idiot who gets hexed (yey!). I really like how you worked around Hermione's thoughts :)

Author's Response: Thanks for reading and reviewing! Nah, Concussed!Ron would have been funnier, tbf. One of the ideas that started this story was "What if Ron was right?" actually. And I'm happy that Patrick getting hexed went down well because he did deserve it. Thank you! I hope you like the rest of the story :)

Chapter: Driving Me Crazy

Excellent reveal! Thank you for quickly addressing Patrick's self-absorbed hypocrisy. No reason to drag out Ron's concerns/apparent jealousies and leave the reader conflicted.
The narrative is tightly constructed and the interaction pleasingly quick. I look forward to the next installment. Will we find Ron wallowing in a Firewhiskey stupor? Will he surprise us all and end up at Hermione's parents'? Does he demonstrate a yet-unseen maturity and return to Grimmald Place? Please do not have him commit an act of childish stupidity...give us a positively surprising resolution and a come-full-circle dialogue between Ron and Hermione that will help them start anew.

Author's Response: Thanks for reading and reviewing! I'm really happy that you liked this chapter! There will be no 'childish stupidity' (I hope anyway) with Ron getting drunk and having a fling or something like that. I've seen it in a lot of stories and I don't think he would make the Lavender mistake twice personally. Obviously I can't say what will happen but I hope you enjoy it :)
