Hello. I'm Addie.
I am a college junior majoring in history, with an emphasis in Japanese studies. I want to travel the world, I am obsessed with the myth of Hades and Persephone, and Wicca fascinates me. I like sunrises, pomegranates, daffodils, and YooHoo.
Sadly, I am not as obsessed with HP as I was when I first joined this site (a whopping seven years ago!), but I am currently working on a fic (One Absolutely Beautiful Thing) that I fully intend to complete.
Is this it? wow, great story!
Well...I think it's poorly written. Your tenses are mixed up and well, "a mean and cruel world"? come on... I don't really mean to be rude or horrible at all, I'm just giving my opinion. Feel free to ignore it.
That was just...I don't think there is a word in the human language that can possibly describe what I have just read. I read it all in one in one sitting; can you believe that? It's 7:40 AM now and I haven't slept - I had to stay up and finish your amazing story.
First off all, I love the different take on Pansy's character – you made her a nice person who had the decency to treat Hermione with respect. She has feelings and thoughts; she is a real person who loves her husband and children. It was different, yet it worked well.
Hermione is outstanding. Her characterization is just perfect, truly! You’ve manage to perfectly convey her pride and stubbornness, and her emotions are just so wonderfully portrayed!
And of course, you have a talent for writing Draco! He’s one of my favorite characters, but I have never loved so much before reading this truly enchanting story!
This has got to be the saddest story I have ever read! I’m glad you stayed away from the typical happy ending stuff though – this was a nice break from the usual monotone.
A quote that stood out in my mind was when the mirror was talking to Hermione about clichés, and how they wouldn’t be clichés if they weren’t great. That was so wise! It was a perfect intrusion into the story. It fit really well.
All in all, I had tears gushing in my eyes while I was reading this. I was mouthing the words along with Hermione and crying along with her. Truly amazing. Wonderful. Beautiful. Awesome. Memorable. Breathtaking. Splendid. Awe-inspiring. Just…indescribable.
Very original relationship I must say. Snape and Hermione? Oh well. Ron also seems a bit out of character and Hermione seems...off, weak. But all in all, great story. A little weird though.
Author's Response: Thanks, BloodRayne!
This story should leave a happy feeling in your heart-Voldemort is gone, everyone is happily married, and all that. It's peacefull, nothing to worry about...and yet it makes me so totally sad that things turned out like this...Harry and Sara, Ginny and Neville, Ron and Luna...wow...it's an aswome story albeit extremely sad.
Author's Response: Thank you for reviewing! I hope that as the story goes along, it won\'t be so sad. I\'m a huge fan of happy endings ;)
awsome chapter! Will Rhea reveal herself as Harry's daughter, at least to the professors? Is Harry really dead, or is it just a goof? UPDATE SOON PLEASE!!!!!
Although I think you haven't given us much to go on (there's not much stuff in chapter 1) so far it seems great. I'd love to know more about Bonnie and is she related to Harry at all? I mean, she has the same eye color and hair color. Can't wait for the next chapter; update soon.
Author's Response: Thanks. Ooooh. The speculation begins. You'll have to read more to find out what happens next...
Awesome chapter. I especially loved it when Siobhan shoved Blaise away; the way she broke down like that made me feel very sympathetic to her. That comment she made to Pansy about her knees was very clever and witty. Anyway, loved everything about this chapter, every word, every happening, everything!
I am loving this more and more every time you update! Your story is one of those stories that I never want to end. You have no idea how disappointed I felt when I finished reading the capter. I really hope you update this soon!
Awsome Story. Update!!!!!!!
Wow. Harry found out. I loved the confrontation between him and Siobhan.
Sad how her life's turning out. The story isn't very supsensful-I mean, there's no big mystery, really, but I still want to read more, and I can't wait for the next chapter! Awsome story, and good luck with your next chapter!
Very clever little twist. I can fully appreciate the magnitude of Siobhan's choice here. I really hope the next chapter comes out soon!
Awsome story, update soon!
Author's Response: Thanks, BloodRayne. Update on its way.
Oh god...to leave it at that is torture! One little thing...I sort of feel that Roderick isn't himself...not as cheerful and ...carefree as he used to be. But maybe I'm just imagining things. Anyway, great chapter and update soon!
Wow, Annie. That was amazing. Truly amazing. It displayed a side to Dramione that I cannot say I have ever seen before. It makes me wonder…why does Hermione succumb to him? I don’t see it in her persona. Is Draco threatening her with something?
I love your writing style. It’s haunting. I adore the Draco/Hermione interaction. It’s just creepy, how he manages to so calmly control her like that. Ron and Harry have left her because she is Draco’s girl now, haven’t they? So terrible, yet written so wonderfully. Draco is scary, and Hermione is very submissive (although unlike her character, perfect portrayal of an abusive relationship). Does Hermione only want sex from Draco? Again, it doesn’t seem like Hermione at all.
That and another thing I have to say: I think the story would have been better off without the song lyrics. I found them an annoying interruption in a story that is written so beautifully it didn’t need outside help to give it emotion. Besides, I know the song Dirty Little Secret and I think it has a bit of a funny undertone to it, not at all suiting for this enchantingly dark story.
I close my eyes, letting the sound of my sharp intakes of breath fill my ears and the image of her face fill my mind. So innocent, so pure, so perfect. Pure unlike her blood.
This anticipation of Draco’s is perfectly balanced by the fact that he still remembers a Mudblood. Draco likes people fawning over him, wanting him. He still knows and realizes Hermione is a Mudblood, yet he wants her and her submissiveness that he pushes it out of his mind. Lovely characterization of Draco here.
Moments later, she is shaking beneath me as I kiss her with a vehemency and passion that scares even myself. Her hands, cut by the times I pressed them against walls and floors covered with jagged rocks, clutch onto my shoulders, nails digging into my skin in a way that only spurs my lust. Her hips, bruised by the times I gripped onto her so forcefully that she cried out in pain, are thrust up against mine as I pin her against the wall behind her. All of it is for my pleasure and mine only.
This is just…it has an extremely strong impact. There is passion, and there is slight romance, but it all has a demented feel towards it, like a love that isn’t quite right. There is something brazenly wrong with it, and I love that the abused wants her abuser – I don’t think she realizes what he is doing to her. She is blinded by passion and – dare I say it?- love. The way you describe this love encounter is memorable. It’s a subtle way of saying Draco has hit her many times before, and abuses her physically as well as sexually.
She understands. Naturally. After all, she’s mine.
So Draco. So selfish and arrogant of him to claim a human being as being something that belongs to him and him only. I salute your Draco characterization!
It’s now my turn to understand. She isn’t the one enslaved.
This line made me want to scream, the beauty of it. It is beautiful and poignant. Draco finally coming to the realization that he is as much a slave as Hermione is. It touches upon him saying before that he and she are very similar. Now they are both enslaved – Hermione I don’t think realizes it, and now Draco has just discovered it. It’s just a very powerful line, just like your entire fic.
Once again, I cannot possibly say how amazing this fic is, how powerful, haunting, and unforgettable. I have never seen abuse portrayed so subtly, yet managing to make such a lasting impression. You’re a wonderful writer, my dear.
Ha! I loved that part at the end, it was so damn FUNNY! Anyway, I can't find anything wrong with our story to comment on, it's perfect! Don't take too long with your next chapter!
Author's Response: Glad you liked the part at the end. I\'ll try to update as soon as posible. Thanks for the review!
Something's bothering me. Draco was thought to be dead, right? But hadn't Severus made the Unbreakable Vow that no harm with come to Draco in front of Bellatrix? So how could Bellatrix not question the fact that Severus is alive in front of her while at the same time believing that he killed Draco?
Author's Response: Do you think everyone knew about the Unbreakable Vow? Remember, Narcissa went to Severus against the Dark Lord\'s wishes. Bellatrix knew this. Bellatrix may be a Death Eater, but she obviously still shares a connection with her sister. I think the events that transpired at Spinners End stayed secret between the three, and perhaps Draco.
Author's Response: But I see what you\'re saying about Bellatrix. I can\'t really talk about anymore, but there was a reason she was brought to look for Severus and Draco. And there\'s also a reason why Wormtail was stationed back at Spinners End, even after Severus showed his loyalty.
Wow, Preethi, this was just wonderful! I totally loved it! Your portrayal of Fleur, especially, was wonderful. I dunno whether it was intentional or not, but his line:
She did not apply any more make-up as she already looked pretty enough to make any man drool over her.
I've always thought of Fleur as somewhat arrogant, and this conveyed that perfectly. I loved that bit.
He ... he died on their wedding day, if I understood correctly. That is heartbreaking, and so terribly tragic. It was great.
And then during the funeral, her emotion is wonderful. It's perfect that she hated all the people and everything around her, because that is how one feels after a loved one dies.
This was awesomely written, really. I loved it!
Author's Response: Aw, thank you Hadeer, dear. :) Yes, Fleur was intentionally arrogant in that bit you quoted. And, Bill did die on their wedding day, unfortunately. Thanks for reviewing, again! :D
I find this chapter a bit OOC of Malfoy, but I think you've written all the graphics...well, if nothing else. You've managed to convey it in a respectful way, although I truly can't imagine Draco raping anyone.
Interesting story. I thought you said it was completed? It rings out tragedy though. Update soon.
Author's Response: Thank you. The story is completely written. However, like everyone else, I must upload one chapter at a time, and wait my turn for it to be validated. The mods here are great, though and handle a tremendous amount of work and get through everything as quickly as they can. :) Cheers! ~Ginny
