Hi
I'm a student, love writing, and really want to just try and write as best I can.
When I was younger I wanted to be a published author, but now I am content to be an unpublished writer and sometimes poet.
I love reading, being outside, swimming, beaches and taking my dog for a walk.
Not sure what else to write.
Favourite books-
Harry Potter (?) Lord of the Rings, anything by Terry Pratchett or Neil Gaiman, Gormenghast, Catch 22, Catcher in the Rye, anything by George Eliot, Camus or Gide, and Cormac McCarthy or Raymond Chandler.
I only really got into music a few months ago (I know- strange but true) and have just got back from the Cambridge Folk Festival which was brilliant. Therefore my current favourite band is Bellowhead, favourite singer John Smith (boring name, excellent songwriter and guitarist).
Also Blazing Fiddles are a fantastic live band.
So now a few of my stories are actually validated (Woot!) I'll tell you a bit about them shall I?
Chaptered:
The Faerie Queen
First fanfic that was validated so very pleased. Chapter three is up, and chapter four will be us asap. I think this will end up being about 14 chapters long. I loved this story when I first wrote it, reread it and hated it. Except the last chapter. I really love the Epilogue and think it's one of the best things I've written. So I will put the rest up just to get to the epilogue!
A Certain Romance
This is my favourite. I really loved writing this- also written whilst getting over something- in a weird way it helped :)

Seven steps to destruction
Awful title with a slightly unnecessary structure. However (back story to this one) when I was first on MNFF (with a username I have now forgotten hence the new one) I wrote a really awful Mary- Sue story about Marisa Montgomery. This story was sort of my way of getting her out of my system, and although I'm quite pleased with it, it is horribly long.
The Chance and the Black
I really enjoyed writing this. It was much more difficult to write, despite being shorter, but I like it better than Seven Steps. I wish I was born in the late 1940s (get a Just Williams style childhood, hitting the sixties during my teenage years, and preferably being a student in 1968), so writing a story set in the 1950s (did I mention I love Joe Orton as well?) was fun.
Coming up:
Lolita- from that title take a wild guess what it is? Yes a student/ teacher romance.
I really do, however, like Lolita and another character in it so I might write another one shot about them. Not sure. Well it is written but it's rubbish and plotless so I need to work on it.

Summary: September 1976.
Sirius has just run away from home. James thinks Lily will finally go out with him. Together with Remus and Peter they plan to have a fun year with lots of mischief managing.
But on the train Sirius meets Mab Bryant, the youngest known terrorist who fought with violence for Irish Independence, before fighting peacefully, and then winning.
She wants to forget, and most of all be Normal. But normality is a strange concept, particularly when the Marauders are around, and Sirius, whose notion of normal has just been turned upside down, may or may not be the person to help her, and she may or may not be the person to help him.
On the eve of the First Wizarding War, a story of rebellion, fighting for friends, for freedom, and pushing others to their limits, and situations outside their control. But most of all fighting oneself.
Sirius/OC and a bit of James/Lily
Summary: The Malfoys at the end of the war are disgraced. Their reputation is in ruins, they command neither respect nor power and have escaped being sent to Azkaban by, as Draco puts it, “the skin of their teeth.”
Lucy Carter is a Muggle who found out she was adopted just over a year ago. Since then she has travelled, but on returning to Britain was shocked by events in the summer. Now she is a student at Oxford, feeling very alone.
But then she gets a letter and the second she reads it, she sees it as a fresh start. So she goes to meet her real parents, Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy, and her twin brother, Draco.
After her first inauspicious meeting with Draco she thinks,
I was prepared to hate my real parents. They had abandoned me and now wanted something back .... if the son was anything to go by they were racist and almost proud of it. Like I said, I was preparing myself to hate my parents.
And then she met them.
Summary: The prologue occurs in April 1999. The Epilogue will be in February 1981.
In between those dates is the story of those who grew up during the height of Voldemort’s first attempt at power. They have lived and maybe even loved, just to be further shaken and destroyed by the Second Wizarding War.
Destruction goes hand in hand with creation. And some things destroyed in the First are reborn in the Second, and some things born in the interim are entirely destroyed.
The cast contains Muggle-born orphan Briar Meyer, pureblood Edward Grey, a good man, Diana Rosier, successfully redeeming her friendship with her uncle by being good, Janus Prewett, who lives up to his name, Marguerite Zabini, Blaise’s beautiful aunt, and Rabastan Lestrange, who does not want redemption but may want affection.
Also included will be brief appearances by a battle-weary Neville Longbottom guarding his parents’ persecutor, an irritating Auror, Bellatrix Lestrange at the height of her supremacist madness, Rodolphus Lestrange, not practising what he preaches, Dolores Umbridge drenched in red wine and Sirius Black, getting stood up in 1980s Hogsmeade.
Also the good folk of London will celebrate the first day of summer in 1998, and mourn the loss of the People’s Princess in 1997.
Summary: "Alphard,
I love you. I love you. I love you.
And you know I would never waste those words. I would never say those words if I didn’t mean them."
This is the letter Alphard Black is reading at the breakfast table with his sister Walburga watching him very, very closely.
Why did Alphard Black leave all his money to his errant nephew Sirius?
Might it have been because the letter he read one morning in the early fifties was from a Muggleborn?
Summary: Mara Montgomery is slowly but surely tumbling down the seven steps to destruction, initiated by seeing something she wished she had not at the Selwyn Midsummer Ball when she was eleven years old.
She is now twenty seven, on first name terms with the Dark Lord's inner circle, and in love with a Muggleborn at just the wrong time.
The Wizarding World is at war, and everyone fights battles in their own way.
