James Potter was going to Azkaban for the rest of his natural life, and his whole family was in shambles. His wife and child have fled the country, his sister was missing, and his parents were a wreck. However, James knew that he had larger problems: he was not as guilty as thought.
His father knew that he had a secret, a terrible secret, and it was one that Harry vowed to discover, come hell or high water. Would the Potter family be able to recover from their emotional maelstrom? Would James ever be a free man again? What kind of skeletons were lurking in the Potter family closet?
Excerpt From Chapter 5
Ginny knew that this battle was over. Her son was leaving, and he would either come back with his younger sister, or he would not come back. As much as she hated the prospect, she mentally acknowledged that it had to be done. “Very well. You had better come back to me safe and sound, you hear me, Albus Severus Potter?”
Ginny then switched her focus to her husband. “And you!” She pointed her finger at Harry menacingly. “I want you to know that if anything happens to him, Harry James Potter, I will never forgive you as long as I live, and that definitely is a promise.”
Angry and emotional, Ginny stormed out of the room, upending a chair in the process. Harry showed more signs of weakness at that point than Albus had ever seen. His father had always been a tower of strength, but now he looked almost beaten.
